A Secret Garden is a full-service wedding and events venue catering to all your needs in a unique country setting just north of Dayton, Ohio. Situated on six beautiful acres, our historic farmstead and its purpose-built outbuildings form the perfect location for your family reunions, corporate events, anniversary parties, vow renewals and of course weddings.

Built in the mid nineteenth century, Weber Estates started life as the Baumgardner family farm. The main house retains many of its original features such as its fireplaces, wood flooring, original sash windows and smoke house.  Although the estate is no longer actively farmed, it is surrounded by beautiful farm land and wooded areas.

We host outdoor events on the spot where the barn and carriage house originally stood. Our venue also features a romantic gazebo situated on the half acre pond.

In addition, we offer access to our bridal suite where the bride and her bridal party can comfortably prepare for the wedding on site in elegant style.

Our heritage

The house in earlier times

Our historic home was built in 1847 by wealthy farmer William Baumgardner. The farmstead included a granary, carriage house, summer kitchen, two barns and a springhouse – not to mention the grand two story brick house, which still stands today.

The farm was added to the National Register of Historic places in 1978 because of its architectural and historic significance.

How to find us

We are conveniently located on State Route 40, between Brandt Pike (201) and Scarff Road (235).

From I-70 take exit 38 for Route 201 north, past Carriage Hill Metropark. Turn right onto Route 40. Cross over Brandt Pike (201), then Palmer Road (177) then find us on the crest of the next hill on the right-hand side.

If you’re coming from the east, you’ll cross Scarff Road (235) then after a mile you’ll see the windmill and house on the crest of a hill on the left-hand side.

GPS can be a little unhelpful in finding our home – you are welcome to call for directions.
